The end of an Era

Today mommy packed up my pack n' play. That means that i'm a big boy and can sleep in my crib from now on. Although I will miss my elephants, I have many new friends in my crib-- many animals on my bumpers and rain-forest animals that live above me. Sometimes they sing songs and fly around me.

Mommy and daddy also put this thing on my crib that talks to me and sings me songs. I never knew so many people could live in something so small! They call it an icrib.

HOLY CRAP I JUST ROLLED OVER!!!

that was the weirdest thing ever! one minute daddy was taking pictures of me and the next thing i know, i'm on my back! I think this means i'm not allowed on the couch anymore.

Tonight I said BA! woo!

more snow!

Today mommy took me out in the snow again! it was really heavy and it got me wet. I don't think i like snow. Mommy and grebby took me to my very first restaurant. I didn't like what was on the menu so i slept. Mommy ate a lot.

After we ate, we walked back to grebby and grob's place. Mommy took me out of my warm, snuggly carseat and put me on the ground in the snow. I'm mad at her. that was just mean. my face got all wet and cold and i screamed unti mommy picked me back up.

My First Snow!

Today gramps and michele came over. We had fun taking everything out of mommy and daddy's closet. mommy boxed up a bunch of books. Then it started to snow! it looked really pretty and mommy took me outside in it with gramps and michele. but that stuff is COLD! I got bored and fell asleep.

Me and Kafka

Today I went to school with mommy. It was so much fun! last night we read Kafka together and then we talked about it in her class. I was a little confused- i didn't know that we get to turn into bugs too!! i can't even sit up yet and this guy has figured out how to turn into a bug!! wow!

I was hungry but mommy just gave me that disembodied nipple. someone should tell her that it doesn't give me food! i just glowered at her for an hour until she fed me.

I just pooped again! time for daddy to change me-- bye!

Happy thanksgiving!

Today was my first Thanksgiving. I met all of my (huge) eemama's family including my 5 second cousins. They are the first people who look like me (and not like mommy and daddy). I spent all day fascinated by all the faces. so many new people to see. mommy's milk was yummy (tastes like turkey!) now i am home and sleepy. *yawn*

my first road trip!

Today I went to philadelphia. mommy wouldn't let me drive, but it was still fun! I made them pull over at the holland tunnel entrance and then ate for an hour. mommy didn't seem very happy about that. now we are in a hotel and philadelphia is so cool!!!

tomorrow daddy and i are going to be bachelors and enjoy the city while mommy takes her test.

i wonder what a philly cheese steak tastes like....

that was unexpected

today i went to the doctor for my 2 month visit. 

I'm a superstar!! today i weigh 12 lbs 10 oz and am 22 and 1/4 inches long with a head circumference of 39 1/2 cm-- that's 75th percentile for length and weight and 50th for head circumference! she also marvelled at how advanced I am-- i can laugh! I can also track past the midline, smile, and hold my head 45 degrees- but i've been doing that for a long time. 

shots are NOT fun! i cried and cried and cried. mommy tried to make me feel better by letting me eat but i wasn't calmed by her delicious milk. I think I might have scared her by turning a really bright shade of purple. well, at least i got two bandaids. 

Mommy gave me tylenol and that made me sleepy. *yawn* good night. 

i'm 8 weeks old!

Yesterday I turned 8 weeks. mommy and daddy were so proud of me! especially because I have outgrown all of my 0-3 month onesies! My head control is awesome too.

this week i am going to the doctor! yay! Mommy says i'm getting shots but i don't know what that means. it sounds fun!

Obama Won

Mommy and Daddy were rooting for him real hard. They keep saying how lucky I am to be growing up in a world that can elect a black president, that they and I will always remember where they were when this happened. I guess it's important to them, and so, it'll have to be to me too.

I'm an Obama baby now!

rock the vote!

wow! what a weekend! mommy had her first residency interview yesterday so daddy and i had a bachelor day. it was fun. then mommy came home and i cried. I cried every time she tried to hold me. it was awesome.

but the most fun was today- today mommy and I voted for the first time! I was really fussy and screamed a lot. mommy looked sad but i was happy when she took me out of the stroller and held me. Now we're getting ready for an election party-- it should be fun!

laughing is fun!

Today I laughed. It was a really weird sensation but mommy and daddy were really proud of me! I got a little freaked out-- i had no idea that i could combine my face muscles and voice like that. it was a little scary.

Haloween!

Haloween was fun. I cried a lot but despite my protests, mommy and daddy insisted on putting me in a costume. I was a resident. I wore green scrubs and a little onesie underneath with my black shoe-socks. I was really mad so i cried some more. In fact, i cried so hard that i made myself hot and daddy thought that I had meningitis and made mommy turn the stroller around. Then he shoved a thermometer up my butt. that wasn't fun at all. so i calmed down and let them take me back outside. we had fun after that!

Crying is fun!

Today I cried all day! It was fun! You might wonder why...well, I'll tell you! Daddy is 'reading' this month which apparently means looking at lots of fuzzy gray blobs on a gray surface...I don't get it...anyway, he's reading about colic and I heard him and mommy discussing colic. I decided to be helpful, oh so very helpful, and show them what colic really is! Yay helpful me! And it got me fed lots, which was totally awesome.

Then tonight was halloween which, as far as I can tell, is like every other day--mommy and daddy dress me up in clothes that I look cute in. Tonight it was as a resident like daddy. I was soooo cute! Check out my pics on my web gallery at gallery.me.com/srhymes. Daddy made it for me.

bath time!

today daddy told mommy that my hair smelled like old foot, so i took a bath. but first, mommy oiled and de-scaled my hair. i really hate it when she does that, so after my bath, i peed on her.

also today i discovered a high-contrast pillow on the couch! it was so fascinating. i stared at it through my entire feed. om taking a break from eating- i just puked all over mommy. yay!

Busy day!

ive eaten six times today and still cant get enough! mommy took me shopping today which was fun, i slept the whole time! i was so warm and cozy in my overalls and sweater, i just couldnt help myself. gotta go eat again!

overstimulated!

wow. i just spent a bunch of time staring at my elephant mobile in my pack n' play. I also smiled a lot! woah. that took way more neurons than i'm used to. i'm totally overstimulated now. sleep time.

My first Blog-post

Today I made a blog. It has been a novel day. I went to the pizza place for the first time! Other than that, my daily routine is the same:

feed, poop, spit up on mommy, poop and pee on daddy while he changes me (that's so much fun!), cry, and then sleep again. Mommy and daddy took me out in the stroller but it was very cold. I do like my hat and my bundle-me which keeps me snuggly warm.

Since it's been an hour since i've eaten, i should go eat again now.
