I stood by myself!

Geez, took them long enough to let me do it! I was standing on the table reaching for the LIGHT, OH MY GOD, THERE WAS A LIGHT IT WAS SO AWESOME!!!! And I was standing really well and daddy must have seen that so he let go of me and I stood for like 15 or 20 seconds! It was great! I'm so independent! Yay me! And did I mention I was reaching for the LIGHT, OH MY GOD, THERE WAS A LIGHT IT WAS SO AWESOME!!!!

Maybe they'll let me walk by myself soon. I'd like that a lot!

I have something on my mouth....

I really like mommy's hard white things in her mouth- they let her eat all sorts of fun things that I can't yet. I'm getting a little sick of pureed food.

Anyway, my gums havebeen very swollen lately and yesterday I felt really yucky. And I have a razor sticking out of my gums! It's really hard! Even when I saw mom I complained a lot.

Mommy told gramps that I just got a "tooth".

I love field trips!

Yesterday mommy was on a faraway place called "call". Daddy and I got to spend the day together which was nice. I love my daddy! He is fun! Yesterday daddy took me to the zoo and we saw lots of animals. Their rooms are way bigger than my room, but mostly they have to share with other animals. I love bats! there are so many and i banged on the glass to get their attention but mostly they ignored me. Then I watched lunchtime with seals. I think fish look yummy. I wish mommy and daddy would let me have some.

Today, when I woke up from my morning nap, mommy was there! I guess she got "off" call for me! yay! I was so happy to see her. Then, mommy and daddy and I went to a museum called the american museum of natural history. Daddy kept talking about dinosaurs, but I don't know. All I saw were lame brown statues on the floor...

...but the ceiling was SO HIGH! IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING THING EVER! AND THEY HAVE THE BIGGEST, COOLEST LIGHTS I'VE EVER SEEN! I LOVE IT!!!

Then I got tired and I shouted and waved my arms a lot until mommy and daddy took me home. Sometimes I think they're not that bright since they can't tell what i'm saying. Maybe they will learn soon.

I made up a game!

It's fun! I love it!

My game is very easy. Mommy or daddy gives me a ball (or spoon, or washcloth), and I throw it on the floor. When they pick it up, I laugh hysterically. It's funny! I can play it ALL day!

My first word!

Today I might have said my first word. I don't know, because I don't know what a word is yet, but when mommy left this morning, daddy and I were waving bye bye, and he said bye bye and so I said baba too! Mommy and daddy got very excited. They are silly.

I can crawl!

I started crawling today. It's so much fun! I can move wherever I want to. Today, daddy left me on the playmat, but i followed him into the bathroom to help. but then I saw the shower curtain- i love the shower curtain!- and so i crawled over to there instead.

I can also finally say consonants-- it's been an eventful week. My favorite thing to do now is to talk when mommy and daddy feed me, because then I can spit food in their face! it's fun!

i like to share!

This morning I woke up at 4:45 in the morning because I wanted to play with mommy and daddy. It was fun to play with my toys. Did you know that you can also give people toys too? i gave mommy one of my toys to play with and it made her so happy!!

Also, at breakfast, mommy was feeding me but i wanted daddy to feed me so i gave him my spoon. he was so happy too!!! sharing is fun.

On Monday, mommy and daddy took me to the dermatologist. He was a super-special dermatologist who is going to make my birthmark go away. Some pictures to share:

why do they insist on torturing me??!??

Today mommy and daddy took me to another doctor. We waited a long time to see him. Many people looked at my arm. We went into many different rooms. I was so tired! My awful parents made me stay up for SO LONG! I was so tired. Finally, I fell asleep in the last room that had many big machines in it.



But I only slept for 5 minutes and then those mean doctors woke me up and burned my arm!!! It hurt a lot and I cried, and now my arm is all black and blue! What's wrong with my parents????

I can make myself stand!

Today mommy went to the store. Once she was gone, I showed ONLY daddy my new skill-- i was sitting in the crib and my shmoopod was blinking lights and beckoning to me. so i stood up to get at it. good thing daddy lowered the crib!

I still can't figure out this shmoopod thing, but the lights are so pretty. i must have them! Also, i love to eat the crib bar. Daddy went bananas (not the fruit, the metaphor. i hate bananas. they make my poop hurt me). He went, "oh my god sam!"

Then I tried to remove my enigmatic shmoopod, but alas my grip on the velcro was not strong and i slipped backward and fell flat on my back. that was fun too!

For my next trick, i will learn to play the piano.

a shocking new discovery.

I HATE bananas. what horrible evil person thought up this 'food'?!?!?! blech. but mommy keeps trying to feed me them. what's wrong with her?

what a strange day...

Mommy and daddy were acting strange all day. mommy woke me up TWICE in the middle of the night to feed me, and then woke me up again in the middle of the night. they got me all dressed and put me in a car. I fell asleep. it was so early!

Then, we got out at this strange place, and mommy and daddy and I played on the floor. then we went to another room, and then another, and then another room where mommy put me in a dress and someone put something in my ear, and something tight on my arm.




Then we went to another strange place, but i was very tired and VERY HUNGRY! but mommy wouldn't feed me. daddy held me in his arms and I fell asleep.

But then I woke up and I was in a cold room and there were lots of machines and people in masks. it was scary. I started to cry but daddy held me in his arms and then someone put a mask on me and I fell asleep.

when I woke up, i felt really strange. my hands looked wierd! but mommy and daddy were there and it was all okay. I smiled at them.




My monkey was there too and he made me feel better.



Now i have a bandage on my wee wee and it hurts! but mommy and daddy gave me some juice that tastes like cherries and now i feel better. but boy, am I tired.

I'm (almost) 6 months!

today was my 6 month visit at the doctor. I love my doctor! she is pretty! i smiled at her and ate her stethescope. but that must have been the wrong thing to do because in response, she poked me with three needles. AGAIN! NOT COOL. but i smiled at her afterwards anyway. I hope this doesn't become a regular thing at the doctor's.

mommies cry too!

Today I saw mommy cry. She got off the phone with daddy and just started crying a lot. I didn't know mommies cry too! I didn't know what to do so I just stopped talking and looked at her. when she opened her eyes, i smiled a little and then she scooped me up and hugged me really hard and told me how much she loved me.

I think i made mommy feel better. I love my mommy!

I like beer!

Happy St. Paddy's day everybody! To celebrate, mommy took me to her friend Ally's house. She lives with a lot of people! everybody was loud and acting silly. i don't know why, but they kept drinking something called a 'car bomb'. that doesn't make sense AT ALL! it was funny. There were so many pretty girls there- i flirted with all of them. but it was so loud! Mommy was too busy looking at the green bagels so i had to get her attention. Then I was tired, but i couldn't fall asleep! i cried. then mommy took me home. but then i wasn't tired! and then EVERYTHING got funny. I laughed and laughed and then i cried and cried. but then i laughed again! maybe that's why all of mommy's friends were laughing too.

Oh also, today I became ticklish in my neck! My newly myelinating nerves make everything so funny! First it was my right arm, then my left and now my neck.

I'm awesome

Not ONLY do i love peas, but today, i CRAWLED!!!! yes, readers, I crawled. Forward. two steps (is that the word?). that's right! not around and around, but actually forward. on my belly. it was really hard work! and then i forgot how to do it and rolled over every time i tried to move forward after that. but i like rolling over too! it's fun.

Next week I am enrolling in college.

so many fun things I am learning!

Yes! As I am now soooo old (5 months!!), my arms and legs move wayyyy better. I can do so many things with them.

I pulled off daddy's glasses today. it was fun because then he was blind. And i discovered mommy's HAIR! it is awesome and really fun to pull.

We played a bit while I sat. I fell down and it was so fun! especially because I was lying next to chukamuka which is as big as me-- but he is no match for me! I grabbed him and pulled him all around. He was on top of me, but I bested him and ate his feet.

Mommy and daddy keep putting me in this very high chair. I hate it. They don't seem to get the hint. I tried everything- making faces, crying, and craning my head 360 degrees around so that they couldn't get that horrible food into me, but they still kept at it! I will have to train them better.

My greatest discovery-- I HAVE FEET! I LOVE THEM! I EAT THEM (but they don't taste very good).

the world is such an interesting place.

I'm Hot!

Last night was the strangest thing, I kept getting uncomfortable and waking up! No matter how many times I kicked the blankets off and cried, I was still very uncomfortable. Mommy and daddy were nice and tried to help me by changing me and feeding me but that didn't do much. Finally at 6 AM not only was I uncomfortable but I was also very hot! Mommy and Daddy must have figured something out with that funny toy they put up my butt. It beeped! I tried to grab it! Then they gave me yummy red stuff and all the uncomfortableness went away and now I can finally go back to sleep! Daddy told me later we're going to the doctor. I hope nothing particularly unexpected (see my earlier posts) happens there again...

Shmoo

I like food!

Today mommy and daddy gave me new toys to play with! There is this one thing that they call a 'spoon' which feels good on my gums! i like to gnaw on it! but the really fascinating new toy is called a 'bowl', and they put stuff in it! it's kind of weird because they won't really let me play with the bowl myself, but they insist on filling this "spoon" with wierd thick milk and shoving it in my mouth.

I don't get it-- everyone knows that milk comes from either mommy or a bottle-- why would they adulterate my milk, and give me very small portions on my toy? I mean, really-- how am I supposed to eat with that thing being constantly shoved in my mouth?

Again, that was unexpected!

Daddy just took me to Dr. Dimaggio again, I like her! She makes me laugh and I flirt with her! So everything was going great this visit but then she poked me 4 times! The first time I was so surprised I didn’t even cry, but the other 3 really hurt! Ouch! That’s it, the next time I see you, Dr. Dimaggio, we’re going to have to have a little talk. Oh well, now I’m sleepy, off to bed!

Mommy's Last Day

Today mommy and I had a fun time playing in my bouncer and floor mat. I grabbed many things and mommy played with me. Mommy is going back to work tomorrow. I don't know what that is, but it must be an awful place because she cried when she told me. I smiled and laughed to make her feel better. I'm helpful!
